Häftlingslager (Prisoners Camp) at Bergen-Belsen KZ/Gedenkstätte

The Häftlingslager (Prison Camp) was established in July 1943 and initially contained approx 500 prisoners (previously held at Buchenwald, Wewelsburg and Natzweiler) that were used to construct the Internierungslager (Internment camp).

After March 1944 the camp filled with prisoners from other camps who were sick or unable to work.
