Brief History

26 July 1944 conscripted into the German Army.

1 September 1944 after 8 weeks training in Frankfurt he worked in a ammunition factory in Bennefeld book keeping and cooking.

22/23 November 1944 transferred to Bergen- Belsen where he worked in the SS Kitchen.

10 - 15 January 1945 transferred to the Entlausung (Bath-House).

25 January 1945 his German Army pay book was withdrawn and 1 February 1945 issued a new one from the SS, along with an SS uniform.

17 September 1945. Stands trial at the 'Trial of Josef Kramer and Forty Four others' at 30 Lindenstraße, Lüneburg. Charged with Count 1.

17 November 1945. Acquitted at the trial.
